Web Development:
OVERVIEW
A well developed and designed website is essential for addressing
a target audience online. We develop, design, and maintain
unique and informative websites, flexible enough to evolve
with future needs. We create smart and intuitive designs that
clearly communicate and extend the client's message, and enhance
their image.
We recognize the fundamental importance of solidly
engineered and logical architecture. Graphics are aligned
with the client's goals and brand attributes while visual
elements help create a mood and communicate the client's message.
Beyond information architecture and graphical interfaces,
we can also develop compelling content that will establish
easy to understand and concise communication of the client's
message.
Through a strong process, we work with clients to
establish requirements, goals and messages to produce an effective
and meaningful on-line presence for the intended audience.
CAPABILITIES
TB ITservices offers smart, intuitive web design solutions.
We can redesign the next generation of your existing
site or create an entirely new site based on your business
goals and objectives. For your Internet, Intranet, or Extranet,
we offer integrated solutions for all of your web-based technology
needs.
Site Analysis
Through the thorough examination of an existing site, we determine
its strengths and weaknesses including: usability, download
times, design and overall efficiency. We document and recommend
strategies to improve your site's performance and better meet
your business objectives.
Internet Strategy
By thoroughly evaluating your business and goals, we transform
business ideas into web solutions. This is done by both defining
your business objectives and gearing those objectives towards
your target market.
Content for the Web
Web publishing is drastically different than writing for print.
We help optimize your content by determining the voice and
tone of the content for your web site and establishing the
Content Strategy. We can also provide content development,
editorial support, and assistance in selecting images, sound,
and video to enrich the user-experience.
Information Architecture
Information Architecture is the logical information structure
of a web site. Because it determines the navigational structure,
it is crucial to your site's success. The information is organized
by first determining user-oriented tasks, and then structuring
the information so users can accomplish these tasks intuitively.
Graphical User Interface Design
The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is the integration of brand
strategy and corporate identity, navigation, and information
design. We create the GUI design to provide a positive visual
experience and an intuitive reference for navigation through
the site.
Site Production
Site Production involves constructing the site in its entirety,
based on a series of client approvals to date. We develop
web sites using HTML as the primary language, with Flash,
JavaScript and other media applications as needed.
PROCESS:
TB ITservices follows a 5-phase approach to site development,
as follows:
Information Audit and Discovery
Web Strategy / Scope Development
Creative Concept and Information Architecture
Production and Buildout
Quality Assurance and Site Launch
Phase One: Information Audit
and Discovery
During the Information Audit essential information is transferred
from our client to PC Professional. Technical requirements,
limitations, and possibilities are explored. Expectations,
needs, and concerns of various stakeholders within the organization
are identified, business objectives and expectations are defined,
and the information is translated into a set of creative and
functional components that will comprise the web site.
Phase Two: Web Strategy
and Scope Development
A comprehensive document is developed that defines project
goals, timeline, and deliverables based on the results of
the Information Audit. The audience is defined in terms of
age, interests, needs, as well as in terms of technical capabilities
(platform, browsers, connection speed, degree of web experience).
Interviews with key staff members are conducted and existing
collateral materials are gathered to use as a foundation for
the development of site content.
Phase Three: Creative Concept
and Information Architecture
Integrated user experiences are created by examining how a
user interacts with a site, both physically and visually.
Content Strategy & Development
A content strategy is developed that addresses the needs of
the end-user. An effective content frameworks is constructed
and ideas are structured to drive users' actions and deliver
information. Raw data and information are gathered, key messages
are extracted, and ideas and content are focused for presentation
on the web.
Information Design
Data-elements are translated into a representation of the
services, product, or a site feature. Information may be depicted
in a variety of formats using a combination of text, images,
graphics, and sound.
Visual Design
The elements of style, color, typography, and imagery come
together in a creative composite design. This design is refined
through continuous revisions and client feedback. A final
design is selected and the production process begins.
Phase Four: Production
and Buildout
A functioning prototype is built to ensure that content and
navigation are intuitive and efficient. Based on a review
of the prototype, changes are incorporated into the design
and the site is built in its entirety. All programming is
completed (HTML, CSS, Flash, JavaScript, etc) and any other
technologies are integrated.
Phase Five: Website
Quality Assurance (QA) Testing and Launch
Development concludes with a series of Quality Assurance (QA)
inspections followed by the launch of the live website.
The final website, appropriate documentation, and
training are provided for the client to ensure they can successfully
manage the site.
